Ramallah, – Tens of Palestinian students took part in a demonstration in Ramallah in protest of the Israeli law banning the Adhan (Muslim call to prayer).

The students from the Student Union Council and Shabiba students movements of Al Quds Open University raised opposing signs, committing to continue organizing protests in support of the Palestinians to practice their national and religious rights freely.

The Knesset’s ministerial committee made a preliminary approval for the bill , which stipulates banning loudspeakers broadcasting the Adhan from 11 pm to 7 am. The committee decided to ban loudspeakers during the Fajr prayer for the regard of not disturbing people during their sleep at night. There is also another proposal, suggesting switching off all loudspeakers in residential areas at all hours. (QNA)
