PALESTINIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY CONDEMNS ISRAEL’S ILLEGAL SETTLEMENTS

Ramallah, – The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned today the Israeli government’s decision to build new settlements in Ramallah.

The ministry released a statement today that Israel has been seizing Palestinian land with the aim of building settlements on them. The statement highlighted that 48 percent of the land on which settlements are built belong to Palestine.

It also condemned Israeli authorities’ racist legislation which allow for illegal settlements according to the international law. The foreign ministry added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to build 7000 illegal settlement units undermined the international community, particularly UN Security Council resolution no. 2334. The statement stressed that Netanyahu’s latest actions are giving a deadly blow to the two-state solution and place great challenges on the international community and the US to restart peace talks.
