KUWAIT, May 3 (KUNA) — Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hend Al-Sabeeh extoled highly on Tuesday the presentation of an operetta titled “These are my Children” by a group of people with special needs.
The minister was attending the stage presentation of the operetta as part of her ministry’s celebration of Kuwait as capital of Islamic culture for 2016.
The sentence “These are my children” was first enunciated by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah which subsequently became a catch phrase denoting the kindness of His Highness the Amir to his people, the people of Kuwait, said Al-Sabeeh, in a speech during today’s celebration.
She stressed in the speech the necessity for national unity, for exercising values of tolerance, acceptance of the other, and for working to ensure the security and stability of the nation by eschewing sectarianism and extremism.
She praised the contribution of people with special needs in making a rousing success of today’s operetta which, among other things, was composed of patriotic musical numbers and sketches on themes of national unity. (end) mth.ajs
