OIC Rejects Israeli Court Ruling on Al-Aqsa

Jeddah, – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) rejected on Thursday an Israeli magistrate court decision reportedly ruling that Jews should be permitted to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound — known to Jews as the Temple Mount.

in a statement today, OIC Secretary-General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen said the decision constitutes a violation of international law, the Geneva Conventions and the UN resolutions on Al-Aqsa Mosque, referring to UNESCO’s decision, which recognizes Al-Aqsa as an exclusive Muslim worship place.

He also warned of serious consequences of the Israeli policies that would feed extremism and threaten to ignite a religious conflict.

An Israeli magistrate court in Jerusalem ruled on Tuesday that Jews were permitted to pray at Al-Aqsa owing to the site’s importance to the religion. (QNA)
