No serious accidents reported in Abu Dhabi: Traffic Police

WAM Abu Dhabi, 22nd Nov. 2013 (WAM) — No serious road accidents were reported in Abu Dhabi’s highways on Thursday despite the unstable weather conditions, Directorate of Traffic and Patrols affirmed on Friday.

Major Mohsen Al Menhali, Head of Highway Traffic Section, said intensive awareness campaigns and patrols as well as good cooperation from motorists and road users were contributing to the absence of dangerous accidents.

He added that traffic police are directing vehicular movement in areas where rainwater were gathered and highways round the clock in anticipation of more rain due to weather fluctuations.

He urged motorists to exercise utmost caution, use hazards if necessary requires so, abide by speed limit and leave a safe distance between vehicles for their own safety and that of other road users.

In Al Ain, traffic Police have distributed pamphlets and brochures, advising motorists on safe driving during unstable and foggy weather conditions.
