NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE ATTENDS MEETING OF UN ROAD SAFETY COLLABORATION

Bangkok, – The Ministry of Interior, represented by the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC), is taking part in the 24th Meeting of the UN Road Safety Collaboration which is being held in the Thai capital Bangkok.

NTSC Vice Chairman and Director General of General Directorate of Traffic Brigadier Mohamed Saad Al Kharji and NTSC Secretary Brigadier Engineer Mohammed Abdullah Al Maliki are attending the meeting.

The meeting will discuss a number of important issues related to traffic safety worldwide, including the implementation of the UN plan for traffic safety for the decade 2011 – 2022, and ways to achieve UN goals of sustainable development related to road safety.

The meeting will also discuss the celebration of the Fourth UN Global Road Safety Week, which is held this year in May under the slogan “managing speed”. It will discuss as well the possibility of developing global indicators for countries to measure the effectiveness of the performance of Member States. (QNA)
