MUNICIPALITY, ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY AND AL FAISAL WITHOUT BORDERS SIGN MOU

Doha, – Ministry of Municipality and Environment and Al Faisal Without Borders signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of raising environmental awareness to students and the national community, by providing support, educational programs and events.

The MoU was signed by HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi and HE Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Faisal Without Borders Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani.

The memorandum aims to strengthen and develop the environment and agriculture awareness between schools and students to improve the educational process to suit the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.

It also covers a number of awareness programs, especially “Plant Qatar”, which is an edutainment program that aims to develop the perceptions and knowledge of children in four fields. The fields are food offered in schools, field trips to farms, learn the concepts and skills of agriculture and the methods of which a student becomes effective in his community.

After the signing of the memorandum, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani said that raising awareness from the start and teaching them to be producers not only consumers, is important for the food security in Qatar. (QNA)
