MINISTER OF MUNICIPALITIES, ENVIRONMENT DISCUSSES IN SPAIN COOPERATION ON NUCLEAR SECURITY, AGRICULTURE

Madrid, – HE the Minister of Municipalities and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi met here on Tuesday with the Chairman of the Spanish Nuclear Security Council, Fernando Marti Scharfhausen.

During the meeting, they discussed prospects of cooperation and exchange of expertise between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Spain, in the field of nuclear security.

During his current visit to Spain, HE the Minister was briefed on the Spanish expertise in the field of nuclear security, as he visited “El Cabril Nuclear Waste Plant “in the city of Cordoba, the only Spanish center specialized for radioactive waste.

HE the Minister of Municipalities Environment also met with the Spanish Minister of Development Inigo De La Serna Hernaiz. The two sides discussed strengthening the two countries’ cooperation in the field of developing infrastructure projects and urban planning.

During the visit, HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi also discussed with HE Spain’s Minister of Agriculture, Fishery, Food and Environment Isabel Garcia Tejerina, ways of enhancing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Spain in various fields, particularly in the field of agricultural and environmental affairs.

The meetings were attended by HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Spain Mohammed Jaham Al Kuwari. (QNA)
