Mideast's peace comes through unified world stance — Arab League

CAIRO, May 8 (KUNA) — Ending the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians must go through a unified stance to bring peace in the region, Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby said Sunday.
Speaking to the press after his meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Al-Araby said that all of the Arab countries supported the Palestinian cause, stressing that it was important to hold an international conference with an aim to end the unjust situation.
As the French initiative suggested, major world powers should take a unified stance towards achieving just peace in the Middle East, said the Arab League Chief.
He added that head of the Arab League ministerial group for Palestine, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, will head to Washington tomorrow to continue supporting the French peace initiative.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to meet with Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian file. (end) mfm.gta
