MACRON WINS FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Paris, – Emmanuel Macron has won the French presidential election with between 65 and 66 per cent of the vote, projections published by multiple French media show.

Macron easily beat far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen after a bitter contest.

The projections are based on initial partial results released by the Interior Ministry.

Macron, 39, set to become France’s youngest ever president.

Far-right French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen,48, conceded defeat and said she had called Emmanuel Macron to congratulate him.(QNA)
