Paris – Outgoing French President Francois Hollande has announced that new president-elect Emmanuel Macaron will take office on Sunday.

Macaron is supposed to announce the names of his prime minister and members of the French government before he starts campaigning on behalf of his new movement En Marche (On The Move) to get the seats he needs to pursue his legislative agenda.

The French Interior Ministry announced earlier in the day that Emmanuel Macaron won the second round of presidential elections on Sunday after the formal completion of the votes count, by 66.10 percent of the total votes, compared to 33.90 percent of votes in favor of Marin Le Pen. (QNA)
