LAVROV : TRUMP AND PUTIN TO MEET IN JULY IN HAMBURG

Washington – US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will meet in July in the German city of Hamburg, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

Hamburg is hosting a summit of the Group of 20 (G20) top economies in July.

Lavrov, who met with Trump in Washington on Wednesday, said in comments carried by Russian state media that their talks focused on potential for collaboration in Syria.

Restoring peace in Syria is the utmost priority for the Russian and US intervention in the war-torn country, Lavrov said.

Lavrov noted that he and Trump did not discuss US-Russian sanctions nor allegations of Russian interference in the US presidential election.(QNA)
