ISTANBVUL, June 29 (KUNA) — All Kuwaitis in the Turkish city of Istanbul are safe, Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Istanbul Mohammed Fahad Al-Mohammad said on Wednesday.
Al-Mohammad’s statement follows the Tuesday attacks that hit the Ataturk Airport in the city claiming the lives of at least 36 people and wounding scores.
Just after the attacks took place, the consulate formed a task force upon directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, he said.
The team worked at the airport to help Kuwaitis whose flights were cancelled for security reasons after the attacks, he added.
Al-Mohammad expressed condolences and sympathy to the Turkish people over the victims of the attacks, and wished the injured speedy recovery. (end) ta.msa
