Kuwaiti-Palestinian exhibition opens in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, May 9 (KUNA) — Palestinian Minister of Culture Ehab Bseiso and head Kuwaiti cultural delegation to Ramallah Mansour Al-Eneizi, inaugurated Sunday evening “The Kuwaiti-Palestinian relations” photo exhibition and “Palestinian cause” postage stamp exhibition.
The Palestinian cause was present in the Kuwaiti stamps’ exhibition to the visitors of the Palestinian International Book Fair, which kicked off last Saturday in Ramallah, in the presence of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
The exhibition included photographs gathered His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as photos of volunteers from the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, showing Kuwait’s support to Palestine.
Bseiso told KUNA that the photographs reflected the political and economic relationship between Kuwait and Palestine, and “The Kuwaiti postage stamps carried the Palestinian concern since the setback and continued during the subsequent periods, which reflected the symbolic dimension in the relationship between Kuwait and Palestine.” he added.
“We tried through this simple Panorama to offer a panel that expresses Kuwait’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right of self-determination,” Al-Eneizi said in a statement to KUNA.
He stressed Kuwait’s keenness to include publications of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters in Kuwait pavilion, as well as issues of Al-Arabi magazine and what has been issued by government institutions about the Palestinian cause.
He pointed out that the Kuwaiti pavilion also included novels and book for Kuwaiti writers “to shed light on Kuwait’s cultural scene.” “Our goal is to communicate with Palestinian intellectuals and to stand by them against attempts to distort the identity and obstruct creativity,” he added.
