AMMAN, May 8 (KUNA) — A Kuwaiti high-level delegation, headed by Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Khaled Al-Kheder, arrived in the Jordanian capital on Sunday to participate in the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) on Monday.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij and Military Attache in Jordan Colonel Staff Turki Al-Meshaal.
Al-Meshaal told KUNA that Al-Kheder was officially invited to take part in the events of SOFEX, which includes a series of comprehensive and topical seminars delivered by top military officials from around the world.
It tackles a wide range of issues pertinent to current counter terrorism and homeland security issues, he said.
About 105 security and military delegations from about 54 countries, and a number of international specialists and experts participate in the event which is held at the King Abdullah I Airbase in Amman, he added, noting that it will open officially to the audience on Tuesday.
About 380 international companies specialized in defense industries in the areas of national security and developed special operations equipment are partaking in the exhibition which is held every two years.
The 75,000 square meter of indoor and outdoor exhibition space attracts exhibitors and national pavilions from all corners of the globe. (end) mjb.hm
