Kuwait Monitoring Detention of 4 Citizens in Iran

Kuwait, December 16 (QNA) – Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the detention of four citizens in Iran’s Ahvaz area, and is coordinating with relevant authorities in order to ensure their release and safe return, the official KUNA news agency reported.

The ministry said the Iranian ambassador to Kuwait was summoned to deliver him a memo demanding access to the detained Kuwaiti citizens and request their safe release, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, Sami Al-Hamad, said.

He added that the Kuwaiti embassy in Tehran had contacted Iranian authorities to follow up on the case and ask to visit them.

The Kuwaiti official said the ministry will continue its efforts through diplomatic channels in order to ensure their release and safe return.
