Kuwait looking forward to benefit from S. Korea's educational experience – Min. Al-Essa

SEOUL, May 10 (KUNA) — Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Bader Al-Essa met here Tuesday with Korean Minister of Education Lee Joon-sik, discussing biteral ties.
During the meeting, Al-Essa expressed Kuwait’s keenness to benefit from the South Korean experience as having one of the best educational systems in the world.
The two ministers also discussed cooperation on schools and educational institutions development. They also tackled development of education in Kuwait through enhanced cooperation and exchange of educational research, in addition to training programs to support workers and researchers in the educational field in order to develop human resources, noted the minister.
Al-Essa also expressed Kuwait’s hope to allocate numbers of seats for Kuwaiti students in Korean universities through a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries.
On his part, the South Korean Minister stressed importance of cooperation between the two countries and his country’s readiness to provide expertise in this regard.
He also hoped to increase the number of scholarships for Kuwaiti students in South Korea, as well as increasing the number of seats for Korean students in Kuwait University to study the history of Arab and Islamic civilizations.
Minister Al-Essa is currently in South Korea as a part of the delegation accompanying His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. (end) anj.ss
