BEIRUT, May 6 (KUNA) — Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), in coordination with the Lebanese Red Cross, distributed on Friday humanitarian aid to a large number of Syrian refugees in the Qaa area in eastern Lebanon.
“Up to 400 Syrian refugee families received food packages and household cleaners enough to last a family of five for a month,” said Relief Operations Coordinator of the Lebanese Red Cross Yusuf Botrous in a statement to KUNA.
He said these families are located in hard to reach places and that is why he doubly appreciated KRCS’s efforts to deliver aid to them despite logistical difficulties.
He expressed gratitude to all the help KRCS has been offering ever since the onset of the refugee problem in Lebanon where more than one and a half million Syrian refugees continue to live in refugee camps.
Kuwait is considered one of the major donors to and alleviators of the plight of the Syrian refugees. (end) mah.ajs
