ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK ANNOUNCES $40 MILLION AGREEMENT WITH UNRWA

Gaza, – The Islamic Development Bank, in its capacity as Coordinator for the Programme of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), announced today the signing of a $40 million agreement with United Nations Relief and Work Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The agreement includes maintenance work for no less than a 100 thousand residential units destroyed during Israel’s attack on Gaza in 2014. UNRWA said in a statement that the agreement reflected the trust it has with the GCC, the agency’s biggest supporter. The agreement will provide the necessary resources to help Palestine refugees find suitable housing. (QNA)
