IRAQ PRIME MINISTER MEETS ARAB LEAGUE SECRETARY GENERAL

Baghdad, – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met on Wednesday with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, currently on a visit to Iraq.

The meeting reviewed developments in Iraq and the region and the victories of the Iraqi troops in fighting the ISIS group. They also touched on the ongoing preparations for the Arab summit, due to be held in the Jordanian capital of Amman at the end of March.

Aboul-Gheit also met Iraqi parliament speaker Salim al-Jabouri, who stressed Iraq’s need for an Arab League fund to support the areas liberated from ISIS control. (QNA)
