KUWAIT, May 10 (KUNA) — The ministry of Health is committed to streamlining its services to the public in line with international standards, said Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi on Tuesday.
In a speech read for him by Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Medical Services — opening an exhibition by the ministry — said the exhibition spotlights the latest designs in the construction of health facilities in conjunction with international construction firms.
Dr. Al-Harbi said that all health infrastructure projects fall within the nation’s far-reaching growth and development plan.
Moreover, he said — in a press statement on the sideline of the exhibition — that the ministry seeks to increase the number of beds in all hospitals to about 13,000 by the year 2020 in keeping with the rise in the population of the country.
In a similar statement, the ministry’s assistant undersecretary for projects Naji Al-Saqer said the exhibition gives the visitor a documented view of the ministry’s achievements and improvements including rehabilitating and newly building health facilities. (end) ndq.ajs
