The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs has prepared measures to support Vietnamese workers in Qatar, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep on Wednesday told the press that after receiving information on the political crisis in Qatar, the ministry has directed its Department of Overseas Labour to request agencies sending workers to report the working addresses of contractors receiving labourers to provide assistance when needed.

The ministry also ordered relevant agencies to keep a close watch on developments in Qatar and prepare necessary measures to support Vietnamese workers.

Nearly 1,800 Vietnamese people work in Qatar under dispatch contracts.
