GAZA HOSPITALS COULD FACE BLACKOUT AMID ENERGY CRISIS

Occupied Jerusalem, – Hospitals in the Gaza Strip could face blackouts within days amid the current energy crisis continues.

Israel and Palestinian officials estimated Thursday that hospitals would finish their reserve fuel for generators within 48-72 hours.

On Sunday Gaza’s only functioning power station stopped working after running out of fuel.

The United Nations envoy for the Middle East peace process, Nickolay Mladenov, called on Wednesday on authorities in Gaza to work together with the international community to resolve a new energy crisis after the area’s only power station shut down, saying the consequences of the crisis “should not be underestimated.” (QNA)
