FM arrives in Jeddah for GCC meeting, dialogue with UK

JEDDAH, May 29 (KUNA) — First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday leading a Kuwaiti delegation to the 139th GCC Ministerial Council.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled will also take part in the 5th GCC-UK Strategic Dialogue Meeting.
Upon arrival, he was received by Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nizar Madani, GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al Zayani, Kuwait’s ambassador to the Kingdom Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Consul General in Jeddah Saleh Ali Al-Seqabi, besides senior officials from the Saudi Foreign Ministry and the GCC Secretariat.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the two meetings includes Assistant Foreign Minister for Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled’s Office Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Assistant Foreign Minister for GCC Affairs ambassador Nasser Haji Al-Mezyen, the Consul General in Jeddah and a host of senior officials at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
The GCC Ministerial Council session, to be presided over by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, will follow up the implementation of resolutions previously taken by the GCC Supreme Council, especially on the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ‘s Vision for bolstering joint GCC action.
The ministers will also discuss what has been so far achieved for the intra-GCC cooperation and integration in all fields.
They will also address a host of reports on the GCC joint action and the regional and international developments, among them conditions in Syria, Iraq and Libya. (end) yms.tma.msa
