LONDON, May 20 (KUNA) — The future of news agencies amid the breathtaking technological progress was the theme of a workshop for the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and Reuters in London.
A FANA delegation and a Reuters team had roundtable discussions that also addressed bolstering bilateral cooperation in training and arts of editing.
The Reuters officials reviewed their long experience in news making and how to deliver them to subscribers through modern technology, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.
In addition, they briefed the FANA team on the best methods to reach to subscribers, focusing on understanding the nature of the target community and receivers’ interests, besides establishing the necessary database and statistics. Then, the FANA delegation toured the Reuters newsrooms where they were acquainted with the products and services the agency offers.
In the meantime, the delegation visited the TAMA TV and media production, where they were briefed in detail on its activities and cooperation with the Arab TV stations.
Last night, FANA President, and Chairman and Director General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah held a banquet dinner in honor of the heads of Arab delegations in the FANA-Reuters workshop. (end) kd.msa
