EU interior ministers discuss migration deal with Turkey

BRUSSELS, May 20 (KUNA) — EU Interior Ministers will be holding an extraordinary meeting in Brussels Friday to discuss the implementation of the EU-Turkey deal to stop the flow of migrants to Europe.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the meeting, EU Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dimitris Avramopouls said “this agreement has to be fully implemented in order to control the situation in the Mediterranean.” The ministers will also discuss a proposal to create a common EU border and coast guard agency, and another EU proposal for visa liberalisation for Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, and Kosovo.
