EU 56 mn euro emergency aid to Greece for migrants

BRUSSELS, May 20 (KUNA) — The European Commission announced Friday that it has awarded 56 million euro in emergency funding to improve conditions for migrants in Greece.
The funding will create better conditions for vulnerable migrants and strengthen the registration and asylum, said the EUآ’s executive body in a statement.
Since the beginning of 2015, the European Commission has awarded 237 million euro in emergency assistance to support the Greek authorities as well as international organisations and NGOs operating in Greece. (end)
