Emirates Airlines profit jumps to USD 2.2 billion

DUBAI, May 10 (KUNA) — Emirates Airlines profits jumped to AED 8.2 billion (USD 2.2 bln) by the end of fiscal year in March 2016, where the growth rate reached 56 percent and the revenues were AED 93 billion, said a press release on Tuesday.
The release added that dnata air services’ provider company, which is led by Emirates Airlines Group, have made profits exceeding AED one billion for the first time, and Emirates Hotels Company; a subsidiary to the group, also made profits of AED 700 million, with a profit growth rate of one percent compared with the end of the previous fiscal year.
The release noted that the board of Emirates Airlines Group will give out AED 2.5 billion as profit shares to the owners.
Emirates Airlines Group is not listed in any stock market exchange, even though it is one of the largest aviation companies in the world in terms of revenues and fleet size. (end) smr.mys
