EMIR OF QATAR ARRIVES IN ADDIS FOR OFFICIAL VISIT TO ETHIOPIA

ADDIS ABABA– The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has arrived in Addis Ababa for a two-day official visit to Ethiopia.

Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport here Monday afternoon, the ruler was welcomed by Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn and senior government officials.

This is the first visit by the emir since he assumed power in 2013.

During his visit, he is expected to meet President Mulatu Teshome and Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn to discuss bilateral matters and other issues of common concern.

In addition, they will discuss the further enhancement of co-operation between the two countries.

Qatar and Ethiopia established diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1995. — NNN-ENA
