Coalition launches two strikes targeting IS in Syria, 23 in Iraq

WASHINGTON, May 27 (KUNA) — The US-led coalition continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting two strikes in Syria and 23 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Friday. In Syria, strikes near Ar Raqqah, and Ayn Isa, destroyed two IS oil-pump jacks and two vehicles, and hit a tactical unit it said. In Iraq, strikes hit areas near Al Baghdadi, Al Huwayjah, Fallujah, Habbaniyah, Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, Sinjar and Tal Afar, destroying IS artillery pieces, a financial center, many separate IS tactical units, fighting positions, weapons caches, vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, a mortar position, assembly areas and two bridges used by the militant group.
