Coalition kill IS members Al-Sudani, his wife – Pentagon

WASHINGTON, May 5 (KUNA) — The US-led international coalition has killed Islamic State group members Abu Saad Al-Sudani and his wife Shadi Jabar Mohammad in a Syria airstrike, the Pentagon said on Thursday.
Al-Sudani, or Abu Isa Al-Amriki, is a Sudanese national whose role was an external attack planner and recruiter.
He was killed an airstrike on April 22 near the Aleppo city of Al-Bab along with his Australian wife, who was also a recruiter for the group, Defence Department spokesman Peter Cook told a briefing.
“Al-Sudani was involved in planning attacks against the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Both Al-Sudani and his wife were active in recruiting foreign fighters in efforts to inspire attacks against Western interests,” said Cook.
The development removes influential IS recruiters and extremists who actively “sought to harm Western interests and further disrupts and degrades IS’s ability to plot external attacks,” he added.
When asked whether the assumed plot against the US was on interests abroad or within the country, he refused to respond, saying “I’m just not going to get into specifics about what.” (pickup previous) sd.ibi
