CHAIRMAN OF AL JAZEERA MEDIA NETWORK INAUGURATES “FUTURE OF MEDIA – LEADERS’ SUMMIT”

Doha – Chairman of Al Jazeera Media Network, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani, on Wednesday inaugurated the two-day “Future of Media – Leaders’ Summit” organized by Al Jazeera Network.

In his opening speech, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer A-Thani said that the organization by Al Jazeera Media Network of this conference comes within the framework of its continuous keenness to keep abreast of the great development witnessed by the media technologies, content publishing platforms and ways to reach the public.

He pointed out that the Forum represents an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies used in various fields of media and to discuss challenges facing media professionals and technicians to cope with the rapid technological development.

He expressed hope that this event will represent an opportunity to come up with important recommendations and guidance that would pave for a better anticipation of the future of media and preparation for the expected changes in the nature of this field.

HE Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani praised the efforts being exerted by Al Jazeera Media Network’s partners in organizing the event, including Microsoft, Cisco, Avid, Commvault, Tech Mahindra, SIP, Smart Global and the Ministry of Transport and Communication and their support to transform the Conference from idea into reality.

The “Future of Media – Leaders’ Summit” is the first of its kind in the Middle East to bring together representatives of media organizations and officials from major technology companies working in the field of digital solutions and innovations to learn about the latest technologies used in different areas of media and the most important challenges facing media professionals to keep pace with accelerated technical development.

The Summit is the first event of its kind within the Middle East region, gathering global broadcast industry leaders, leading CIOs, ICT professionals and experts to deliberate on critical business and technology issues impacting the media industry.

The objective is to bring two days of in-depth exploration of technological innovation, learning prospects for members of the industry, and an opportunity to understand the drive in technological advancement in the next phase of media industry transformation.

The summit shall provide networking opportunities and meetings with industry solution providers, partnerships and peers to aid in the transformation & shaping of the future of media in a dynamic technological environment. The Summit will be akin to other leading industry events in addition to other regional and global players. (QNA)
