Bolivia has invited the Emir of Qatar Tamin bin Hamad Al-Thani to the 4th Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF), to be held from Nov 20 to 24 in the eastern city of Santa Cruz.

Minister of Justice and Institutional Transparency Hector Arce extended the official invitation during a meeting with Al-Thani at his palace in Doha, said a statement issued by the ministry.

According to Arce, the presence of the emir in the event is important considering that it is the third most important gas producer and exporter in the world, following Russia and Iran.

Arce also extended an invitation in recent days to re-elected Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to attend the GECF.

The GECF is made up of Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
