Blast kills policeman, injures another in N. Sinai

CAIRO, May 21 (KUNA) — A policeman was killed and another wounded on Saturday in a bomb explosion targeting an armored vehicle in Egypt’s northeastern North Sinai Governorate, the Egyptian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The injured policeman was taken to hospital for medical treatment, the ministry said, adding that necessary legal procedures were taken.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi had issued a decree earlier this month extending the state of emergency in several Sinai areas for three months due to intensive attacks by militants against army and police forces. (end)
