AT LEAST 24 KILLED IN APPARENT EXPLOSION IN SOUTH AFRICAN MINE

Cape Town – At least 24 people have been killed after an apparent explosion in a mine in central South Africa, local news agency ANA reported Tuesday.

An unknown number of miners was trapped in the Eland Shaft mine in the town of Welkom, police said.

The search for more miners continued on Tuesday evening, while police investigation into cause of the accident was under way. QNA)
