Doha, – Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will permanently divert a 600-meter section of Al Kassarat Street starting Wednesday in order to to enable the completion and connection of a 22-kilometer expressway project in Doha’s south.

The proposed road change, which is located in the New Industrial Area, has been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. The alternative route will provide temporary access between Al Kassarat Street and the Wadi Aba Seleel area.

Road users that previously used the diverted section of Al Kassarat Street to travel south to the Wadi Aba Seleel area will be required to travel north to Street 33, turn left at the roundabout and continue straight to the second roundabout on Street 33 before turning left onto Street 2001 towards the Logistics Village.

Road users will be required to travel directly south and perform a U-turn at the roundabout near Logistics Village before heading right towards the diverted section of Al Kassarat Street. Once road users approach the diverted section of Al Kassarat Street, they will be automatically shifted towards Wadi Aba Seleel.

Road users that are heading north from Wadi Aba Seleel towards Doha are advised to drive towards the diverted section of Al Kassarat Street, turn right onto the newly constructed road and continue straight before taking an exit loop towards Roundabout 52 and East Industrial Street.

Ashghal has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit, which will remain at 50 kph, and follow newly implemented traffic road signs to ensure their safety. (QNA)
