ARAB ROBOTICS CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS

DOHA, March 20 (NNN-KUNA) — The Arab 10th Arab Open Robotics Championship kicked off here on Sunday with participation of 13 Kuwaiti teams contesting among 143 groups from various Arab countries.

Rima Abu Khadija, Director of Guidance at the Ministry of Education, affirmed in the opening statement the championship’s effect in stimulating students to sharpen their skills in sciences, engineering, mathematics and computer programming.

Their participation in the event is helpful for developing their skills to solve problems, enhance team work and invest in time, she added.

Ismail Yassin, Chairman of the Arab Robotics Association, said in his statement that holding such an activity is necessary to help youngsters develop skills needed in the 21st century.

Kuwaiti is participating with 30 students, forming 13 teams. Two of the participating teams, from Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), represent Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity.

Four others represent Kuwait Robotics Club and six from Kuwait Information Technology Society.
