CAIRO, May 23 (KUNA) — Members of the Executive Office of the Arab Information Ministers agreed Monday to name the Palestinian city of Al-Quds, or Jerusalem, as the Arab Media Capital for 2016.
Safaa Hejazi, chairperson of the Office, said in a statement the members approved the naming of Al-Quds to further highlight its status.
Hejazi, also president of the Arab Radio and TV Authority, meanwhile said terrorism has been threatening development plans in the Arab countries.
“The level of awareness among Arab citizens should be promoted to address poisonous way of thinking which threatens the youth,” she said.
The Executive office has Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Tunisia, Algeria, Djibouti, Iraq and Mauritania as members. (end) ms.bs
