KUWAIT, May 2 (KUNA) — Australian Governor-General Peter Cosgrove’s visit to Kuwait yielded “productive results,” Kuwait’s Ambassador to Sydney Najeeb Abdulrahman Al-Bader said on Monday, adding that the visit helped to enhance bilateral ties.
In a statement obtained by KUNA, Al-Bader described the visit as “historic and successful”, saying that it helped solidify ties between both nations.
The discussions Cosgrove held with the Kuwaiti leadership encompassed a wide array of issues, with emphasis placed on increased cooperation between Kuwait and Sydney, Al-Bader noted.
Moreover, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Australia said that Cosgrove held in-depth discussions with His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim and First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The Australian Governor-General departed Kuwait early on Monday, in what was the first official visit by an Australian governor-general to the country. (end) jah.nam
