Administrative Development, Labor, Social Affairs Ministry Inaugurates Aswaq Qatar

Doha- The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs announced on Thursday the winners for the 2017 incentive award for productive families and inaugurated Aswaq Qatar which will run till the end of the month.

The award ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies ministers and was sponsored by the Sports and Social Activities Support Fund, Daam. The prize categories were best productive family, and best product.

HE Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said the government is working on achieving the human social development and the Qatari community in accordance with the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the strategic plan of the ministry, and in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

His Excellency highlighted the importance of uniting the individual, governmental and non-governmental bodies’ efforts to translate the Qatar National Vision into reality through adopting ideas and projects which could achieve the vision the wise leadership and turn Qatar into a country capable of attaining sustainable development and guaranteeing a prosperous life to its people generation after generation. The ministry launched the incentive award for the best product and best productive family in the4th edition of the exhibition to encourage home-based projects to continue producing as well as raise awareness of the importance of producing, the minister added.

The award also enables the families financially, help them benefit from their own resources and turn them into productive entrepreneurs that efficiently contribute to the economic and social development of Qatar, the minister said.

His Excellency praised the role of Daam in supporting the award and exhibition as well as the efforts made by all the organizers, hoping the success contributes to accomplishing sustainable development in the country.

In a statement on the sidelines of the opening, he said the ministry is cooperating with its partners to empower productive families through providing a permanent market to exhibit their products. In addition, the ministry is supporting them by providing them with shops, organizing exhibitions and activities to better their projects as well as training them to develop their skills and their products.

His Excellency praised the products made by the family, stating that they succeeded nationally and internationally due to their diversity and quality, pointing out that one of the family won a major award in Bahrain recently.

Najat Al Abdullah, Director of the Department of Family Affairs of the Ministry of Administrative Development and Labor and Social Affairs, said 80 families are taking part in the exhibition which will run till 30th April.

Al Abdullah added the exhibition holds workshops on cultural crafts and marketing skills, whilst giving the chance for the winners to present their production and marketing experiences.

She praised the efforts of the department and the productive families who have developed their products making them a competitor in the Qatari market. The exhibition presents different qualities of products in order that all vendors can benefit from one another and share their experiences, she added.

The department’s help is provided to all families and supports all projects and their owners by organizing workshops and training courses on developing the product and marketing skills.

Board Member of Daam, Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater congratulated the winners of the award, adding supporting the winners is another achievement for the fund to create a productive and innovative generation which in turn contributes to the development of the country.

Al Khater said the fund attaches importance to all activities and initiatives that aim to prepare national personnel, refine individual and societal abilities, launch initiative and aim the support to activities that positively impact sustainability in social, sports, and cultural fields as well as other vital areas.
