6 strikes in Syria, 11 in Iraq target IS — coalition

WASHINGTON, May 7 (KUNA) — Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting six strikes in Syria and 11 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Saturday.
In Syria near Al Shadaddi, one strike struck an IS tactical unit, and near Dayr Az Zawr, one strike destroyed an IS vehicle, the announcement said.
Near Manbij, one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS fighting position, it said.
Near Mar’a, three strikes struck an IS tactical unit, an IS command-and-control node and an IS headquarters, and destroyed an IS vehicle and an IS fighting position, it said.
In Iraq near Al Baghdadi, one strike destroyed an IS vehicle and damaged an IS fighting position, the statement said.
Near Albu Hayat, one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS vehicle, an IS boat and an IS weapons cache, it said.
Near Ar Rutbah, one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS vehicle, it said.
Near Bashir, one strike destroyed an IS command-and-control node, and near Fallujah, one strike struck an IS tactical unit, the statement said.
Near Habbaniyah, one strike damaged an IS fighting position, it said.
Near Hit, one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed two IS fighting positions, it said.
Near Kisik, one strike destroyed an IS fighting position, it said.
Near Mosul, three strikes struck an IS tactical unit and an IS communications facility, and destroyed three IS fighting positions and an IS heavy machine gun, and suppressed an IS mortar position, the statement said. (end) rm.ibi
