6 PKK ELEMENTS NEUTRALIZED IN SOUTHEASTERN TURKEY

Ankara – Turkish security forces in the southeastern state of Hakkari have neutralized six elements of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) organization during a military operation.

In a statement issued Thursday, the provincial governor’s office said that the gendarmerie and the security forces carried out a joint operation against the hideouts of militants in the rural area of Kavakli village, noting that the operation resulted in the neutralization of six elements of the separatist organization.

In a related context, the General Command of the Turkish gendarmerie announced in a statement that the military operations carried out 29 days ago on the hideouts of the PKK militants in Chernak province southeast of the country resulted in the seizure of large quantities of weapons and ammunition and five tons of explosives.
