20 TALIBAN MILITANTS KILLED IN SECURITY OPERATION SOUTH AFGHANISTAN

Kabul – Twenty Taliban militants were killed in a security operation launched by Afghan forces today in the country’s southern province of Uruzgan.

Uruzgan security chief Ghulam Farouk said in a press statement, that the operation was supported by air forces of (NATO), adding that it resulted in the killing of 20 militants from Taliban and the arrest of about 20 other after being wounded during the clashes that took place between them and the Afghan forces.

He also pointed out that, during the operation, the security forces confiscated many documents and destroyed several hideouts in the area.

So far, the Taliban has not issued any comment on the military operation. (QNA)
