10TH MEETING OF ARAB ELECTRONIC MEDIA COMMITTEE BEGINS

Doha, – Doha hosted today the 10th Meeting of the Arab Electronic Media Committee organized by Qatar News Agency (QNA) in collaboration with the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League.

The meeting, chaired by Assistant Secretary General, Head of Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League HE Ambassador Dr Haifa Shaker Abu Ghazaleh, reviewed the recommendations of the workshop on ‘Knowledge Media in Websites’ held in Doha yesterday, and followed up on the implementation of the recommendations of the 9th meeting of the Committee and the accompanying workshop held in Bahrain last November.

It also discussed the development of the committee’s Internet website and reviewed the report of the Ministry of Culture and Information in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this regard.

In a statement to QNA, Dr Haifa Shaker Abu Ghazaleh said this meeting acquires its importance from the topics it discussed, especially the recommendations of the workshop held in Doha yesterday, as well as the development of the committee’s website.

She added that the meeting was briefed by the representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the efforts to activate the committee’s Internet website and make it available to the Arab countries to post information so that it becomes an information portal for the Arab electronic media.

Ambassador Haifa Shaker Abu Ghazaleh expressed thanks to the State of Qatar for hosting this meeting and for the good organization, which contributed to its success and coming up with recommendations that promote Arab electronic media. (QNA)
