WIN Eurasia Metalworking fair to welcome visitors in June

WIN Eurasia Metalworking Fair, a gateway to new markets, is being staged on June 5-8, 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Hannover Messe Bilesim Fuarcılık A.S. will bring together three related fields for the event: metalworking, welding/cutting and surface treatment.

More than 900 exhibitors will showcase their machines, technology and applications to an international trade audience.

For German mechanical engineering and manufacturing enterprises, there are several good reasons to make the trip to Istanbul – either as exhibitors or as visitors.

Turkey has a strong production base in the metalworking sector. In 2012 the Turkish automotive industry turned out more than 1.07 million vehicles, making it the No. 16 auto producer on a global scale. In shipbuilding Turkey is the world’s third largest producer of mega-yachts, and the European No. 1 for chemical tankers with smaller tonnages. And in the production of household appliances and “white goods”, Turkey is also Europe’s leading country.

All three of these sectors of industry have a strong need for metalworking, welding/joining and the surface treatment of their materials. For this reason big-name manufacturers of machine tools and presses from Germany have been represented at WIN Eurasia Metalworking for more than 10 years.

For the upcoming show they are anticipating a great deal of visitor interest, since Turkish industry has set itself some ambitious targets over the next 10 years. Indeed, the nation is planning to become one of the world’s top five machine exporters and increase the share of machines in overall Turkish exports from its current 10 percent to 20 percent by 2023.

As interesting as Turkey may be in its role as the host country for WIN Eurasia Metalworking, the exhibition has set its sights on a much bigger target – the entire Eurasian economic region – which is why it is considered the trade fair for Eurasian sheet metal working and metal forming.

A large percentage of visitors perennially come from North Africa, Near and Central Asia and the Gulf states -nations with a highly dynamic economic trends and a correspondingly large demand for machines and production equipment.

In 2014, high-ranking delegations are expected from numerous countries, including Algeria, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Libya, Lebanon, Montenegro, Morocco, Poland, Qatar, Rome, Russian Federation, Serbia, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Oman, Yemen, as well as Germany.

The tradeshow organizers were able to recruit a total of 30 national and international associations to function as sponsors and co-promoters. The German Engineering Federation, VDMA, will be represented at the event with a group pavilion of German mechanical engineering companies – one that is organized annually by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology. Well-known German exhibitors there include Watios, Desch Antriebstechnik, ERMAFA/Auerbach and Stiebel Getriebebau.

WIN Eurasia Metalworking 2015 is scheduled to run from February12 to February 15 at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center.
