US create trade mission announced to Azerbaijan

The US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and the US Commercial Service have finished to form a US trade mission to Azerbaijan.

The USACC said the mission, which is to take place on November 18-20, was organized with the support of AmCham Turkey, AmCham Azerbaijan, Azpromo and High-Tech Park.

15 American companies, including U.S. Department of Commerce officials and other dignitaries will travel to Baku on November 18-20, 2015 to explore and expand trade and business opportunities with local businesses and government agencies.

“Azerbaijan is a very important trading partner for American businesses. During my time serving in Baku, I saw firsthand the tremendous potential for bilateral commercial cooperation,” Deputy Assistant Secretary of U.S. Department of Commerce Michael Lally said. “The goal of this trade mission is to open doors to tremendous new export opportunities and work to attract new investment to Azerbaijan, which will further develop the close relationship between our two economies.”

The mission will bring together leaders in business and government to focus on strengthening business and trade relationships between the economies of U.S. and Azerbaijan. The mission will take place on November 18-20, 2015 and include several government briefings, one-on-one meetings and networking receptions.

“We are putting together a fast-paced, business-focused trip that will create tangible results for U.S. and Azerbaijani businesses,” said USACC Executive Director Susan Sadigova.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the United States in January-July 2015 increased by 7.7 percent in annual terms, up to $877.07 million, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan. Compared with the same period last year, the import of the US goods to Azerbaijan increased by 1.67 times, while the export of Azerbaijani goods decreased by 1.69 times.
