Two police officers killed in shootout in Baku

Baku: Two police officers are reported to have been killed in a shootout in Baku’s Nardaran settlement on Thursday.

Abbas, a member of the radical group that clashed with police, has also been killed.

They have thrown a grenade and then fired at police forces.

Several more have been wounded in the shootout. Among them are police officers.


Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Those killed and wounded in the special operation in Baku’s Nardaran settlement have been taken to Sabunchu City Clinic Hospital No.3.

An APA correspondent at the hospital says the man that died on the way to hospital is a police officer. According to information, several more police officers are wounded as they met resistance.


Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Law enforcement agencies have conducted a special operation Baku’s Nardaran settlement. The operation turned into a skirmish as the opposite side showed resistance. Some people were reportedly killed and injured.

Several people have been detained in the operation.

The Sabunchu police department has confirmed the fact to APA.

The prosecutor general’s office told APA that the fact is under investigation and a statement will soon be issued.
