Two people arrested for insulting Erdogan

Two men, who were taken into custody by the claim of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan via the social media, were arrested in southeastern province of Sanliurfa on Friday.

Mehmet A. ,24, and Ahmet A. ,23, were arrested by judicial authorities in Birecik district of Sanliurfa, following the interrogation at Provincial Security Directorate. According to the claims, the suspects also shared messages on behalf of Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) on social media.

Meanwhile, the number of people, who were arrested for insulting Erdogan, surpassed fifteen in Sanliurfa at recent months.
