TurkPA: Azerbaijan’s elections meet requirements of legislation and international standards

Baku: The parliamentary elections, held in Azerbaijan on November 1, meet requirements of legislation and international standards, Serijkan Kanayev, the head of the observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA), told reporters.

“Voters were positive and cautious in the voting process. The mission recorded no law violations,” he said.

He said that they observed elections in Nasimi, Binagadi, Yasamal and Sabail districts and noted that preparation of technical and procedural rules, guidelines was a positive case.

TurkPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov expressed gratitude for the conditions created for the observation mission.
