Turkish police detain 15 in counterterrorism operation in Istanbul

Police detained 15 people in Istanbul on Wednesday over suspected links with the youth wing of the terrorist Kurdistan Workersand’ Party (PKK).
According to the Dogan news agency, police officers from the Istanbul Police Departmentand’s Counterterrorism Unit, supported by special forces and riot police, conducted simultaneous raids on a number of locations in the cityand’s Sultangazi district early on Wednesday, detaining 15 suspected members of the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDG-H) group.
Two pump action rifles and other weapons were seized during the dawn operation.
